Traffic congestion in Swat has become a malaise.Keeping in view the problems of general public faced by traffic congestion,Deputy Commissioner Swat Amer Afaq directed Traffic Magistrate/AAC Hamid Buneray to devise policy and visit bazaars to mitigate problem of traffic.
Following actions are taken on emergency basis to control traffic congestion:
1)strictly banning of parking of vehicles on roadside
2)TMA will remove all temporary encroachments that were meddling in traffic flow.
3)hand carts and push carts will be restricted to specified areas
4)Levies personnel are already deployed to assist traffic police.
5)Entry of Heavy Vehicles/loading/unloading restricted in interior city from 7am to 7 pm
6)TMA parking is made functional to resolve parking issue.
In addition to this,Sabzi Mandi and General Bus stand is being shifted to Qamber by-pass. District Administration Swat is aware of every problem of public and is doing utmost effort to provide relief to general public.

It might give us a temporary relief but in long run a complete traffic Management plan is needed. The management plan may include:
The New Road should be made one way.A complete ban on unregistered rikshaws, motorcycle and cut vehicles. A public transport service may be introduced inside Mingora City. A complete ban on parking on road sides inside the city. A fee may be introduced for entry in Mingora City. The fee charging zone should include the area between these chowks: Green Chowk, Nishat Chowk, Sohrab Khan Chowk, Gulshan Chowk, Taj Chowk.
I don’t think it will be helpful, almost all possible action have taken,
Try to develop alternate routes, and some smart actions,
Encroachments already removed,
These efforts are appreciated but in a long run district administration provincial govt federal govt have their own responsibilities
If health facilities at Tehsil levels are upgraded load on mingora saidu will be lessen
2ndly if possible govt offices shd be shifted from city area for example SNGPL shifted office to fizaghat
And autorikhshas shd be distributed among different Tehsils and a specific number shd be allowed in mingora
A parking of must be made obligatory for banks commercial plazas school and colleges
etc
Mostly the Traffic jam issued is Created by Ptcl pools and as well as Electricity Pools,it should be installed on the side of the roads, its much resolved some of the traffic jam issued easily.
Good initiatives on temporary basis but permanent solution is indispensable
Well honestly i was observing the traffic polic today, and i confess they are doing great job. On the other hand, swat taffic congestion will remain as is untill the roads are widened.
I think you can taked help from Mr Sheraz Ali Lecture in University of Swat in Dep of Development Studies. He have alot of Experience in these road solving issues, i suggest to you then take experties of Sir Sheraz sb

Appreciated….but most of the traffic police i hv seen specially at mingora swat shows a bit incompitency during their duty time due to which traffic problems created….
Eshop keepers are parking a bikes in front of their shops, creating hurdles in parking.
