Gul Afsha first woman who made history by visiting Buner on bike
PESHAWAR. It was a historic moment when Gul Afsha Tariq, a woman bike-rider, reached Buner after riding all the way from Peshawar to show the soft image of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) had organized the event for Gul Afsha Tariq.
The bike-rider started journey from Peshawar and visited different mountainous, heritage and historic sites on way to Buner where she is going to join Buner Festival today.
Twenty-four-year old Gul Afsha in past had also visited various places across KP in 20 days through her majestic bike. She had travelled to Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral etc.
Managing Director TCKP Mushtaq Ahmad Khan has said that the corporation had always worked on various projects to show the soft and peaceful image of KP to the outer world.
He added that for the last four years, thousands of tourists had so far been visited scenic places in KP. He informed that government had already made police forces in hilly areas which not only guided the tourists but also providing them security.
On the occasion, talking to media Gul Afsha appreciated the efforts of TCKP for organizing the event and stressed the need for arranging such more events to attract foreign and domestic tourists to the serene spots of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
