The Swat State Mile Marker.
(Status: work On-going)

This Mile Marker was originally installed at Saidu Sharif, the capital of Swat during the reign of Miangul Abdul Haq Jahanzeb, the then ruler of Swat State (from 1949-1969).

It is one of the last surviving distance boards of State era designed for the convenience of visitors/travellers.

The board was initially marked by distance in miles as attested by the incised surface, however after the merger of the Swat State into Pakistan, the board was painted and inscribed with distance in kilometers. The same has now been restored to its original markings.

The original board has now been preserved and shifted to the Premises of Swat Museum. While a replica will be shortly installed at original place to facilitate visitors / tourists.
