"This chunky little seed-eating bird is found here in open forested areas where they breed up to 2,700m above sea level. In winters, they descend down to adjacent valleys and foothills and better wooded areas of the Punjab Salt Range. It occurs from Chitral southwards to Upper and Lower Dir, Swat, Indus Kohistan and the Murree Hills. The vocalizations of this bird is described by most sources as "the sweetest and most musical" of any species of sparrow."

Q : "What do you call this bird in your local language?"
