The enduring Buddha of Swat, carved on a cliff within the seventh century, has been restored to its virtually authentic kind with Italian help in northwestern Pakistan, practically 11 years after it was dynamited by the banned Tehreek-e-Tal*b*n Pakistan throughout their management over the world.
The Buddha seated in a meditative posture, thought of one of many largest rock sculptures in South Asia, was attacked in September 2007 by the Tal*b*n militants, who blew up half the statue’s face by drilling holes into the face and shoulders and inserting explosives, triggering a worldwide anger.
